Day 100

Day 100 (cdt 25): 36 miles

Woke up warm in a privy bivy (probably my least clean one yet) and got a pretty early start to the day. The first 6 miles were brutal on my feet. It was on a dirt road but this road was scattered with rocks that would kill my feet and were impossible to avoid. I was happy to finally reach the pavement.

The rest of the day was walking on paved road to chama (an alternate route in taking due to snow) which can do a number on feet but I didn’t care. It felt better than that dirt road.

The weather was a little strange today. It was getting hot but then a bunch of clouds appeared and it looked like it might rain. Thankfully it didn’t. Then in the middle of the day the wind picked up to 30-40 mph.

I saw the high mountains the official trail would go through off in the distance and was glad I took the alternate with the amount of snow I saw 😅
