Day 112

Day 112

Day 112 (pct 2): 28 miles

I had a little trouble falling asleep last night so I got a little later start then I was hoping today, but I was shocked with how early the sun comes out. The morning was spent slipping through wet overgrowth on a long descent and shorter ascent to lake morena where I filled up in water. Around midday I started a 3,000 foot climb but it’s so much more generous out here than on the AT.

I got rained on a little in the middle of the day but after the sky was a pretty cool scene. I really wanted to go farther today (I’m hoping to average 30 miles especially in this desert section) but my chafe was getting to me today so I didn’t want to make that worse since I forgot body glide. And I was already playing the lottery with limited camping so I didn’t want to push on to just have it be full. Limited camping options is definitely something I’ll have to get used to.

Song of the day: chicken soup-skrillex
