Day 130

Day 130 (pct 20): 36 miles

It felt good to get out of my funk today and get back to a good mileage day. There were a couple water caches today so even though there was no natural water most of the day it wasn’t too bad. In the beginning of the day I was in a forest for a while and it was cool so I thought I might be done with the desert but nope. Most of the day turned out to be in the exposed desert. But toward the end of the day I did see the transition in the landscape off in the distance from desert sands to granite and trees.

I was running off and on while going pretty fast today when I was listening to the new J Cole album and David Goggins on joe Rogan. Album was pretty hard and I need to finesse the goggins audiobook somehow. Dude had so many great quotes and a killer mindset. The opening line is one of my favorite.

Today was the first crazy winds I’ve dealt with since New Mexico. It had to be getting 50-60 mph at times. Even as I was going to bed cowboy camping it was still super windy which wasn’t too enjoyable cause I was high up without a ton of shelter from it.

I scared the shit out of another person today when I came up behind him and said hi. He yelled and jumped out of his shoes. I might need to change my name the Baba Yaga.

I thought I might get decapitated for a while today. A goober was flying a drone plane thing close the trail at a million miles an hour and was getting a little too close for my liking.

I started to get some ankle pain toward the end of the day. No certain event just and aching, should hopefully subside

May is mental health awareness month. Please consider donating to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at the link in my bio!

Song of the day: 95 south-j Cole
New album is pretty darn good
