Day 131

Day 131 (pct 21): 34 miles

Went over walker pass in the morning which is a bit of a milestone cause I got to change to a new section on Guthook and some might call it the end of the desert.

I was assaulted by a lizard. I was walking along and all of a sudden I hear something on my left flipping out. He ran back and forth in place like 4 times then jumped onto my foot then spun around 3 times then took off. If it was a snake it would’ve been a different story.

Early in the afternoon the skies were pretty clear then I went through a mountain pass and all of a sudden it looked like all hell was gonna break loose. It waited about 20 minutes then started raining. I didn’t feel like getting soaked so I took shelter under a little tree by wedging myself in between it and the steep hill. I waited there for about a half hour for it to stop then started moving again. I felt so smart, I needed a break and timed the rain perfectly. But then it rained off and on for the next few hours. 2nd rain on trail and nice to have it on my first day out of the desert.

I felt weird for most of today. I didn’t feel great and felt in a bit of a trance sometimes but got through it.

Ankle began hurting a little again toward the end of the day and a couple days ago was the first time I didn’t use bag balm cause I was in a hurry and now my heels are a little tender.

May is mental health awareness month. Please consider donating to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention at the link in my bio!
