Day 134

Day 134 (pct 24): 31 miles
I didn’t get up and moving until around 7 today cause it was pretty darn cold (foreshadowing). My fear was also confirmed last night. Lately my sleeping pad has been a little deflated when I wake up. But last night I had to reblow it up 4 times throughout the night. This was due though, I was telling someone a few days ago about how surprised I was with its durability.
I was moving really slow this morning just not feeling it with my heavy pack. I definitely brought more food than I needed which was already a lot. I moved pretty slow most of the day taking consistent breaks to give my back and shoulders a break from the weight. But towards the end of the day I finally started to feel better and pick up speed.
I officially entered sequoia and kings canyon today, back where it all began for me. I’m super excited for the next few days. They’re gonna be hard, and probably really cold but I love this place.
The really nice thing about the Sierra so far is having pretty consistent water. And especially today I didn’t need too much cause it wasn’t too hot. I heard from someone that some really cold weather is gonna roll in soon and I guess a lot of people are trying to get off trail for it. I ain’t got time to be cold. My gear is not really suitable for single digits but hopefully my compounded misery from winter on the AT comes in handy.
