Day 153

Day 153

Day 153 (pct 43): 9 miles

I woke up and realized my feet were hurting worse than they were when I went to sleep which was not ideal. I put on a little lotramin ultra and got going for the day while gritting my teeth.

In the morning I was approaching Donner Pass. If you don’t know the history of that area some people ate each other one time it’s no big deal. Look it up for some fun

I ended up having to do some extra climbing and summit mt Lincoln with a ski lift at the top because there was a 20-30 foot wall of snow that I didn’t want to side down to follow the trail. There are few things in the world I hate more than extra climbing.

I made it to dinner ski ranch and enjoyed a pizza. The meat in the pizza tasted a little funny (jk it was great). This place is also awesome and gives pct hikers a free beer. Some people raise their nose at the fact that it’s a steel reserve but I’m a simple man. The best kind of beer is free beer. And I also got 2 free beers from other hikers so I was having a good day to say the least.

After that I succumbed to my foot pain and stayed there for the night. Hopefully with some more time to clean up and air out they feel better and I can get an early start and knock out a big day tomorrow.
