Day 172

Day 172 (pct 62): 34 miles
I got back on trail around 8. Thanks again to Charley for dropping me off and taking care of us. It was a warm one today. I think it was a little over 100 but thankfully most of the day was in the cover of shade. I met 2 fellow Ohioans section hiking in the morning. Water was pretty spaced out today which wasn’t ideal with the heat but it wasn’t terrible. I heard a tree realllyy swaying in the wind and thought it might tumble so I got out of there pretty quick.
Late in the day I remembered they I was out of toilet paper and forgot to acquire some while I was in town. Unfortunately I didn’t have a choice in delaying any longer so I had to resort to the cardboard roll. Wouldn’t recommend
A few miles after that and right before dusk I came across 2 people hanging out by a van at a road crossing. They said they’d been there for hours and I was the first person they saw. I sat down and had a nice chat with them while sucking down a few beers.
I pushed a few more miles to an abandoned forest road where I cowboy camped. There are some cicadas or locusts or something here that are “loud ass hell” so I might wake up with a little hearing loss. Going to bed after 11, alarm set for 4.
