Day 176

Day 176 (pct 66): 30 miles
I got the best night of sleep I’ve had in a long time. A full 8 hours! I started off the morning with a bloody nose after doing a farmer’s sneeze but after that it was a pretty mellow day. It was about 8 miles to the first water source which was really nice cold clear water which we haven’t gotten a ton of lately. Then it was a 22 mile carry to the next water.
Recently this would’ve been really bad but it was a little cooler today, probably only in the 80s and there was excellent shade all day so it wasn’t so bad. I was a little thirsty when we got to the next water but not like I’ve been in the last 2 weeks at times.
For sleeping in a little bit and ending the day early due to water scarcity it was a pretty good 30 mile day. It’s exponentially easier to cover distance when it’s not 100 degrees.
The mosquitoes are still insane and I just don’t understand why cause there’s not much water around.
Passed the “highest point on the PCT in Oregon and Washington” which was anticlimactic since I was higher yesterday on the rim trail around crater lake.
