Day 210

Day 210 (cdt 37): 30 miles
It was pretty hazy this morning without much views of the surrounding mountains. The trail was pretty enjoyable early in the day high up on a ridge out of the brush. But most of the day was walking though a lot of overgrowth. It was a really uneventful and kind of boring day. Regardless, the goal stands strong. I’ll lose my mind before I lose my drive.
I’m camping on a little island between 2 streams. It’s rocky but thankfully there’s a spot here. There’s so much undergrowth in this massive burn area that there’s not a lot of campsites so it’s kind of a search towards the end of the day and I’m having to settle earlier than I want to go cause I don’t know when the next possible camp spot will be.
I’ll be taking the spotted bear alternate tomorrow which is supposed to be scenic but also has a ton of downed trees so it should be a ~fun~ day. The last picture is a comment from another hiker.
I’m still getting used to going SOBO. I always look at the map thinking I’m heading north cause that’s the way it’s always been. And when I read comments from other hikers I still interpret them as if I’m heading northbound. I gotta adapt to this southbound mindset here pretty soon.
I’m ready to get out of this burn area.
Song of the day: just lose it-Eminem
