Day 216

Day 216 (cdt 43): 41 miles
Thankfully I was getting ahead on sleep earlier in this trail. I ended up hiking pretty late but still forced myself to get up early. I was under a little more pressure than normal. I was punked by my phone charger which had one bar left but turned out to be basically nothing so I wanted to get to town ASAP to get my stuff charged back up. Today was probably the most conservative I’ve ever been with my phone. I would only use it when i was at a junction to ensure I go the correct way. As if it was meant to be, I got a hitch shortly before sunset and was able to get my stuff charging overnight to be ready to roll in the morning.
The area was pretty today. It was a lot of dirt road walking and just seeing the rolling mountains under that big Montana sky. It looks like the worst of the waterless stretches are over at least for now. Although with the cold and rain yesterday I didn’t even notice it too much.
This also might be the first time I brought nearly the exact amount of food. Usually it’s far too much cause my eyes are bigger than my stomach.
Song of the day: big empty-stone temple pilots
