Plan Update

lil update: I gave myself a lot of flex time with my schedule for the ODT. There’s a combination that created a sort of problem. I finished too early, and the snowpack on the PNT along the Canadian border is still crazy.
So I’m heading west to hike the Oregon Coast Trail. It’s exactly what it sounds like. I’m also going to stop doing the daily blogs, at least for the time being. I’ve enjoyed doing it, but gonna take a break for a bit. Will still probably post some stuff, mainly trying to be funny when it’s only to myself, but won’t be doing daily blogs.
I’m gonna try to change my attitude on this hike. I’m really in no hurry to get up to Montana anytime soon to start the PNT, so I’m viewing the OCT more as a leisurely stroll than a thru hike where I should move fast. That’s the plan for now at least.
The only other problem is that I’m dumb. I traveled from the northeast corner of Oregon to Ashland in the southwest because I planned on hiking the trail northbound. When I got to Ashland and got my guidebook for the hike, I learned that you really really really should hike this trail southbound 🤡 so now I have to waste more time and money heading back up the coast in order to hike south. I’m really going all in on Oregon this year. But excited to get back near a lot of water, even if it is saltwater!
P.s. one of my least favorite aspects of hiking is losing all muscular strength and definition. The first picture does a decent job of tricking me into thinking I still have my normal back muscles but I don’t. I’m already looking forward to getting jacked again when I finish this year up. I love hiking, hate the hiking body. I need to cultivate mass
