A Day Before I Start 5

Family runs deep

Day -3: 24 miles

Weather: 30s, sunny and windy

Hitched into Hamburg for a resupply at my long lost cousins. If your name is on the door anywhere you should get free food there in my book, but I guess they disagreed. I got picked up by a driver before I even took the first step off the trail and onto the road. Shout out to Cindy from Hamburg, bless you.

While I was trying to cook my dinner my stove caught on fire twice so I’ll need to get that checked out. I’ve been thinking about not bringing a stove on the AT to save weight in my already heavy pack but know that a warm meal will feel good in the cold. But Cooking does also take a decent amount of time prof the day. We’ll see what happens.

Lost a glove. Really need to stop leaving my coat pockets unzipped with stuff in them. I’m rethinking my glove setup cause it’s probably insufficient for all day freezing rain but I lost one of them I likely would still use anyways🤦
