Day 36

Day 36: 40 miles

I kinda went into beast mode today to take advantage of the nice day. There’s a big winter storm coming tomorrow and if I wanted to be able to get into town to dry out my stuff from it I had to have a big day today. I’ve also got a place to stay in town so that was some extra motivation.

Today was just about moving. I had some good views but I really didn’t want to stop to take pictures. I also blew by the priest shelter without realizing it so I missed a pretty interesting part of the trail. (At this shelter there is a journal where people write “trail confessions” which are apparently pretty funny).

The day was about 60/40 with dirt and ice but finally the ice was not shin deep so I could just walk on top of it instead of falling through constantly. My microspikes got some good use today for the first time in a while.

Not a whole lot to say, just a good long work day. Earn it
