Day 41

Day 41

Day 41: 25 miles

I had an interesting night of sleep last night. Every 15 minutes the heater would kick on and make noise and this would usually wake me up. It was a nice timer t change positions every 15 minutes to prevent an arm from falling asleep. I’m not complaining about sleeping in heat, I just felt like part of some sick sleep deprivation experiment sometimes.

The freezing rain returned this morning. They seemed to alternate every 20 minutes letting each have their turn. With as great as the weather has been lately I couldn’t complain. 3 days of sunshine? I was due for some bad weather.

Thankfully it cleared up in the afternoon and there were even some blue skies between patches of fog. I’m not sure of the science behind it but sometimes when I would come upon a patch of fog the temperature would drop like 5 degrees. Made me want clear skies even more

I left Shenandoah National Park this evening. I didn’t know much about that place going in but absolutely loved it

I debated about tryin to push an extra 8 miles at the end of the day to put me in better shape to make it to Harpers ferry by Wednesday (my goal) but I decided to make it an early night and try to have a big day tomorrow to set me up for it. I’ve gotta cover 56 miles in 2 days. Eskeetit
