Day 42

Day 42: 33 miles

Last night was the first time in a long time I camped with someone else. We ended up hiking out to the road in the morning and he gave me a ride into town and even paid for my food resupply. Again, great people. I downed about 4 liters of water in the 10 minutes we were at the store cause I just haven’t been drinking much.

Overall it was a pretty uneventful day other than passing the 1k mile mark. The only other notable trail landmark was that I started the roller coaster which is an overhyped and unnecessary section of the trail. This area is general pretty flat however the designers decided to pick the absolute highest and lowest points to steer the trail and it just has you going up and down big hills/little mountains repeatedly. It’s really not that bad, just unnecessary.

I got the absolute shit scared out of me at dusk. I was walking without any light for a bit cause my headlamp is still broken and it’s kind of a hassle to carry it so I don’t unless I have to. I tried to Magyver it to a trekking pole but it lasted for all of 5 minutes. Anyways, I was walking and then just heard these loud noises right next to me and didn’t really know what was going on. About 20 feet later I saw 2 big birds soaring away. Normally I’d think thy fly off sooner than when I’m 3 feet away but I guess I have that natural smell on now.

For my Ed edd and eddy fans out there, I saw plank in a shelter today

Good earning day
