Day 72

Day 72: 20 miles

If there’s a first time for everything then there’s a first time for running out of food prematurely. Because I’m moving slower lately with the “trail” I covered less miles and therefore did not make it to the next town before I ran out of food. Since I was bone dry I had to take a alternate around Stratton mountain unfortunately and get into town asap. I ended up taking a snowmobile path for most of it to save time following an actual visible trail rather than obliviously scaling the side of a mountain.

I ended up getting a hitch really quick but when I said “can you bring me to the store in town?” I should’ve been more specific about the town. I ended up going a few miles in the wrong direction. While hanging out at a gas station there and trying to figure out how to get where I needed to go, a person came up and offered to bring me there. They then drove me to multiple stops I needed to make. Good people.

It poured rain today but thankfully I got up early and into town before it was bad.
